Do you like gifts? Would you rather receive a gift or give a gift? There are people who have a giving heart, who love to give to others. Do you have a giving heart? A giving heart comes from God, who loves to give.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
It is probably the most well known verse in the Bible. Do we really understand the gift God has given us in Jesus? God gave us Jesus, born as a baby, born in a manger. Most of the world was indifferent to God’s gift of a Savior then and most of the world is indifferent to God’s gift of a Savior today? Are you indifferent? Have you accepted God’s gift of Jesus as your Savior?
Is our greatest desire to share God’s gift of a Savior? Do we realize the blessings that come from a giving heart?
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
Most of the world would disagree with Jesus’ words that , “It is more blessed to give than to receive. True blessing and joy come from giving to those in need. Do you have a giving heart? Do you have a heart like God?
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Do you have a heart of stone? We all have hearts of stone unless we accept God’s gift of a new heart and a new spirit. May we each accept God’s gifts of Jesus, a new heart and a new spirit and by God’s grace may we share His gift with all people.
